Arden Companies, a leading manufacturer and distributor of outdoor patio consumer products and pet beds, has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Tech in our Fort Wayne, Indiana plant.

 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, moving, removing, or installing industrial machinery and equipment within the manufacturing plant or warehouse and assist in the general maintenance of the buildings and property. This role ensures that production equipment operates efficiently and safely to meet production goals.

 

Shift Details: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm (Overtime may be required during peak season)

Location: 3510 Piper Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46809

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify potential issues.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement, according to maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production teams to understand equipment issues and ensure quick resolution.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery; Perform upgrades and modifications to existing equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • MIG Welding experience or willingness to learn.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

POSITION INFORMATION

  • This position pays $21-$24 per hour depending on experience.
