Inside Sales /Customer Service Representative

This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Inside Sales / Customer Service Representatives manage and maintain designated customer accounts.  

Key Responsibilities

        Develop new business by prospecting new opportunities, following up on leads, and ensuring a smooth sales process

        Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers by cross-selling different product lines and handling customer service issues.

        Maintain a high volume of customer contacts on an ongoing basis in the CRM

        Complete special projects as assigned

        Spend 75-90% of time on the phone calling customers/ prospects

        Develop and research prospect lead lists

        Keep management informed of all activity

        Develop, report and manage activity reports for customer base

        Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, making recommendations and answering key questions

        Following up on customer contacts at year end for update and realignment of orders

        Answering consumer questions based on expertise of product

        Reporting competitive information to senior management

        Stay connected in the industry with various types of research, including infrequent trade show attendance, competitive research projects, trade organization research, etc.

        Other duties as required to help the success of the department or team.

Qualifications

        High School diploma or equivalent

        1 -2 years in customer service preferred but not required

        High energy and love of speaking to customers/prospects

        Good team partnership

        Computer literacy; MS Office, EDI, CRM

        Well organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving

        Excellent communication, sales, and customer service skills

   The ability to work independently and multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines

Working Conditions

        Sitting at a desk for long periods
